We know how tough it is on the front lines. We’ve been yelled at, humiliated, and put in harm’s way. But as a powerful and mature union, we will not be silenced. We speak up where we see employer policies and government decisions that impact our ability to provide quality care. And we don’t give up. After all, when we all come together on a common issue, we’re hard to ignore.
ONA Locals 13 and 239 working together at the Northern Lights Festival Boreal in July 2026 to talk truth to our neighbours about the state of health care in Ontario. ONA Locals gathered outside of Health Sciences North, united by a shared purpose and an unwavering commitment to patient safety. We stood together in solidarity, raising our voices and demanding that our CEO come to the table to negotiate safe registered nurse-to-patient ratios. The weather may have been harsh, but our determination was stronger. When we stand together, our voices are louder, our resolve is stronger, and our message is clear: safe staffing is essential for safe patient care. #NursingRatiosNow!
